The former Chairman of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Chief Victor Umeh on Saturday handed over the reins of the party leadership to Dr. Victor Ikechukwu Oye who emerged the new National Chairman at its 2015 National Convention at the Women Development Centre, Awka, the Anambra State capital.

Also elected as the National Secretary of the party was a former Minister of Information in the Goodluck Jonathan administration and the APGA Candidate in the April 11 Governorship and House of Assembly elections in Nasarawa State, Mr. Labaran Maku.

Former Chairman of Peoples' Democratic Party (PDP) in Anambra State, Chief Ivy Ifeatu Obi-Okoye was elected as the National Publicity Secretary of the Party, while the position of Deputy National Chairman South want to Uchenna Okafor, National organising secretary, Mike Kwentoh, legal Adviser, Barr. Ifeanyi Mbaeri, National Auditor, Pastor P.K. Jegede, Women Leader, Amaka Ezinne, who will be deputised by Hajia Aliyu Dogis among others. The chairman of the Electoral Panel, Emmanuel Nweke, a lawyer said the existing offices were zoned to the six geo-political zones and forms dispatched where interested candidate purchased same, filled and retained to the panel.

According to him, in the final analysis, positions were harmonised and each zone brought its preferred, adding that the 35 member National Executive of the party were a result of collective consensus. The executive members were inaugurated after a voice vote affirmation by delegates in accordance with the APGA Constitution.
